Pure Moroccan Saffron
Our story
From the heights of Taliouine, considered the capital of Moroccan saffron, we founded Pur Safran Marocain with the desire to promote a unique terroir and ancestral know-how.
Each year, between mid-October and mid-November (the harvest takes place only at this time) at dawn, our local producers hand-pick the flowers of Crocus sativus, before the sun alters them, a thousand-year-old gesture passed down from generation to generation.
We carefully select the stigmas (the red threads of the saffron), which we dry using traditional methods, without additives or chemical treatments. The result: a 100% natural Moroccan saffron, of impeccable purity, intense aromas, and premium quality.
Douar Tanfkekht, commune: Souktana
THE Douar Tanfkekht, located in the commune of Souktana about 15 km east of Taliouine (province of Taroudant, Souss-Massa region), is a small rural village typical of the Moroccan Anti-Atlas.
This village is part of the famous Taliouine region, known as the saffron capital of Morocco, where thousands of families live off the cultivation of Crocus sativus, also called “red gold”
By choosing saffron from Taliouine, you are not just buying a spice: you are embracing a piece of history and supporting a community of producers, thus valuing
a handcrafted product, and help to preserve a culinary heritage
and authentic culture.
